Today, I got a little too caught up with an I Love Lucy marathon, so I decided that it would be fun to write about the relationship between Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. The duo are most notably remembered for their roles in the self-titled show, however there was more to this couple than that. They met, started their relationship, and eloped soon after. Their relationship was reported to be very rocky. Reports say that Lucy had filed for divorce a few years after they married, but they reconciled before it was finalized. Their marriage continued to be rocky due to stress and Desi's struggles with alcoholism and womanizing. Despite this, they stayed together for their family and their joint business in Hollywood.
Desi and Lucy had two children together- a son and a daughter. After attempting to stay together, they finally divorced after about 20 years of marriage. Both remarried other spouses, however they remained good friends despite their past marital issues. They are one of my favorite old school celebrity couples and I always enjoy watching their shows.
