The news that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were a couple surprised a majority of people. The surprise was due to a variety of different reasons. One of the main reasons was because of their age differences- Mariah is significantly older than Nick. In addition to their age differences, Mariah also had found more success in her singing career than Nick was able to in his pursuit into the acting world. Finally, they seemed to have very different personalities. Mariah is very talkative, yet very feminine and pretty over the top with her style and lifestyle. Nick is more of the comedic fun-seeker.
Soon after they went public with their relationship, they announced their engagement. Shorty after that, they got married in an intimate ceremony. After a few years of marriage, they welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe. Since the birth of their children, the couple has stayed out of the Hollywood scene to focus primarily on their adorable family.
